Filling a Story with Color

As I mentioned in my post on Friday, about what you all should expect from me in the future, I am currently very interested in learning about videography and just video editing in general. So in today's post, I wanted to announce my first project revolving around this art form and that project is a music video for Fortnite Battle Royale. I know that this game is currently being milked for all it's worth in terms of video content, but over these past few days, I couldn't get this idea out of my head.

On Friday of last week, I found myself watching the Fortnite trailer for the Nintendo Switch which premiered at this year's E3. In that trailer, a song plays throughout called Right Now by Confetti. It was super catchy and went perfectly with the tone and feel that the game of Fortnite portrays. Since I loved the song so much, I decided to go listen to the full version. After listening to it a few times, I started pairing up cool camera shots or things you can do in the game to a bunch of the beats in my head. This slowly turned into a sort of obsession over the weekend as I always kept thinking of things to pair with the song. Finally, on Sunday, I decided to put these ideas on paper and figure out how to best go about making some kind of music video. With no prior experience in video editing or making, this was very daunting at first. However, my desire to make this thing overcame those fears and worries very quickly.

So with my nervousness behind me, I took to Google to do some research about storyboarding and downloaded myself a template to get started. Over the rest of that Sunday and into today, I began drawing out the beginnings of this music video. And let me tell you, it is looking great so far! Hopefully, by Wednesday of this week, I can show you all some pictures of what I have come up with.
