Color Excursion

After arriving home from work today, I decided to go to a park with my good friend Michael to take some cool photos! What's really cool about this park is that there is an amazing cliff overlook that gives you a great view of the lake. To fully take advantage of that view, I decided to head over closer to sundown to get some nice low lighting for the pictures. Apparently, this is a good time to take photos, according to a photographer friend of mine, because the lower light makes your pictures have a bit more contrast.
We got there around 8:30 pm and started with some small rock formations within the forest. I took some pretty cool shots of my friend Michael up on one of the formations. Rocks and forests, in general, are really cool to me because of the randomness of nature. No two rocks or trees are the same so you are always getting a pretty unique picture. After taking too many pictures of this rock formation, we headed to the main attraction of this park, the overlook cliffs. I was blown away when I finally got to see the view. I had been here plenty of times before, however, this was the first time I came with photography in mind. It's amazing how much more interesting normal places become when you look at them through the eye of a photographer. Thanks to this new mindset, I believe I ended up getting some nice photos to hopefully use in and edit in the future!
After taking this little excursion, I definitely want to do this more to really develop my skills with photography. So I would expect these types of blog posts maybe once or twice a week! And before you have to ask, here are a few of the shots I took today. I hope you enjoy them!
