Unexpected Colors

Today, something really cool happened to me. This morning, as per my usual routine, I was eating a bowl of cereal while scrolling through Instagram. It was just like any other morning when suddenly I scrolled to a photo a friend of mine posted on her story. In this photo, she took a picture next to this statue she saw somewhere in Europe. This statue had to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It was this super mysterious looking hooded figure lounging back on a stone chair with a pencil in hand. I screenshot the picture right away and put on my interest research glasses (figuratively of course).

With glasses on, I went at this mystery from every angle I could think of. I tried to search the photo on through Google, searched for hooded statues, attempted to figure out where my friend was, and even tried zooming in to try and read the inscriptions on the stone. Finally, after a good detective workout, I came across the exact statue I wanted. It turns out that it is a statue named Anonymous, the unknown chronicler at the court of King Béla III who wrote a history of the early Magyars. Located in Budapest, Hungary, this thing just looks so cool! The way he is sitting and the awesome looking hood he is wearing just make it. So after finding this magnificent piece of art, I went ahead and began making the art piece that you will all see later tonight. And if you are in the future, now you know how the backstory behind the piece!

I decided to mention this story today because I wanted to tell all of you that you never know where inspiration will come from! As a designer and/or artist, always be on the lookout because who knew scrolling through Instagram stories would create my favorite piece yet!
