Today is a big day for those who are fans of video games. This because today is the first day of E3 which is an annual gaming convention that showcases new games and information in the video game industry. The reason why I am excited for today is because Bethesda Game Studios is holding their conference where they are expected to reveal a ton of information about their upcoming titles for this year. However, there is one game in particular that I am very excited about and that is Fallout 76. For those of you who do not follow Besthesda, or video games in general, Bethesda's Fallout series is a very popular open-world, role-playing-game that takes place in a reality where the cold war never stopped and nuclear power became the norm. However, unlike the previous Fallout games that take place around 100 to 200 years after a full fledged nuclear war wiped out the entire planet, Fallout 76 will only be 20 years after. This change is very interesting and will only add to the reason I love the series.

I picked up the Fallout series at Fallout 4 and instantly got addicted to it. In fact the reason I enjoyed the game so much wasn't just because of the game itself, but because of the style of the world it was in. To be very brief, the style of this game is a combination of post-apocalyptic, futuristic, and 1950s Americana (If that seems a bit odd to you, I suggest checking out this video I will link here.) For some reason, I just couldn't get enough of this combination of styles and how well they worked together. In fact, one of my earlier pieces was inspired by the world of Fallout.

By bringing together the bright colors of the 1950s with the grittiness of a post-apocalyptic world, Bethesda, and Interplay Productions before them, was able to create this surreal world where vintage met futuristic. It really allows you to see what the world would be like if the 1950s just kept happening.

Overall, I cannot wait to here more information tonight about what the next Fallout game will bring to the table. I highly suggest just giving Fallout a google because the story and style behind it all is just incredible.
